you going to be exhibiting for the first time or into a new situation,
and are not sure how to handle it?
Are you going to do it yourself or do you need help with custom
design and build?
What
system or kit is most suited to your application?
Which piece of equipment is best or most cost effective?

General
Artwork preparation
Working
in proportion is an essential.
Please be consistent with your artworks, i.e; ¼ scale used
throughout the job.
For example - Finished artwork size 800mm x 2150mm will be set
at 200mm x 537.5mm.
File
Formats
Ideally we like to have High Res .pdf files, but we can accept
many other types of file.
From programs like Freehand, Illustrator, InDesign, Coreldraw
etc., you can save the document as an .eps file or .ps file. Make
sure that all fonts are converted to paths/curves.
From QuarkXPress, please produce a Postscript or High Res pdf
file if possible.
Text
& Fonts
Ideally all fonts used within your graphics should be converted
to outlines/paths from your design software (Coreldraw, Illustrator,
Freehand etc).
Scanning
Resolutions
All images included should be minimum 300dpi @ artwork size or
75dpi @ finished size. This will work out to approximately 25mb
per square metre RGB or 34mb per square metre when converted to
CMYK.
The higher the resolution, the more detail in the image, but too
high a resolution and files can become impractical to work with.
We regularly use a phrase “300dpi at ¼ size or 75dpi
finished size”.
Small pictures on exhibition panels use higher resolution setting
(150dpi at print size) for large image covering an exhibition
panel use lower res (75dpi at print size).
Web or graphics with resolutions lower than specified can cause
pixelation effects when enlarged and leave jagged edges on images.
Use
CMYK settings for all colour values. CMYK colours are what we
can output. (RGB colours will be converted to CMYK before printing
and will print differently to the RGB colours that you see on
the computer screen).
You can use Pantone colours and we will do our best to match them
when printing. Please provide Pantone references if a colour match
is required. Please be aware that colours will be printed as the
closest CMYK equivalents.
Photoshop
- Delete alpha channels from files. Delete finished paths and
ensure files are flattened and not saved as multi-layer PSD files.
File to be CMYK.
Illustrator - Fonts outlined with all placed/pasted
artwork in file converted to CMYK and flattened.
Freehand - Convert fonts to paths. File to be
CMYK.
Adobe PDF (Press Ready) - Convert all elements
to CMYK including placed files from original artwork source.
- All fonts outlined and flattened.
Office - Powerpoint and Word
are not designed to be used for exhibition graphics and should
be avoided at all costs.
