Design with refurbish, reconfigure and reuse in mind

Leading the way in sustainable exhibition stand design & build

A step change has occurred. Responsible and ethical businesses do care about where and how their exhibition stands are produced and GH Display’s business model is already geared up for just that kind of environmentally sensitive approach. Creating eco-friendly and sustainable exhibition stands doesn’t start and end with the production of the stand itself. It is a multi-faceted approach that starts from the day to day running of our manufacturing workshops and print studio to the power we use, to the decisions around materials, waste disposal, recycling and product design. In fact everything we do at GH Display starts with the question, how do we deliver this one thing as well as we possibly can, whilst minimising our impact on the planet.

Powering GH Display

In 2022 GH Display Ltd invested ÂŁ125,000 into renewable energy generation and low voltage lighting installation at our 30,000 square foot of workshop, print and office space. this bought us a roof full of solar panels and new low voltage LED lighting throughout all of workshops, print areas and office spaces. We are proud to report that 100% of our manufacturing, production and print is completed using our own generated renewable energy.

Environmentally sensitive material choices

We have swapped out the traditional print medias with the latest in eco-friendly materials. It is a constant exploration with new environmentally friendly, more durable and cost effective sustainable medias being introduced to the market every week. Unless there is an absolute justifiable need for a non recyclable or non-recycled media, we have swapped out traditional polyester based fabric medias with a new 100% recycled plastic based material, manufactured from recycled plastic drinks bottles. We have replaced PVC banner media with a biodegradable equivalent and where this may not be suitable for particular conditions we would replace our biodegradable media with a recyclable PVC free material. What would have been produced on rigid foamex boards has now been swapped for a 100% recyclable and 80% recycled equivalent white board product. Traditional acrylic sheets have not been replaced by Green Cast sheets, which are 100% recycled and 100% recyclable without losing any of the optical, mechanical and thermal characteristics of traditional acrylic.

Designed for refurbishment, reconfiguration and reuse

We ensure that a GH Display custom exhibition stand is designed and built to last. This means our stand and custom displays are reused for multiple events, reducing our waste disposal as a business, but also that of our customers. All of our custom exhibition stand components are design engineered to be both durable, but also easy to renew and refurbish. Therefore if a component is damaged, rather than scrap and replace the entire item, we will produce the damaged element only and replace this part. This approach to design has been a game changer for us in terms of the reduction in our waste and carbon emissions output. Our manufacturing material choices are guided by sustainability. For example, we often choose to manufacturer from aluminium as this is one of the only metals that can be infinitely recycled to create the exact same quality product, time and time again. Our large storage facility enables us to store and therefore reuse exhibition stand components.

Our environmental & sustainability policy

GH Display recognises its responsibilities to the environment. Our guiding principle around sustainability is to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

This is the case with regards to a general day to day operations, but also on a project-by-project basis. We will regularly review these targets alongside changes to regulations, waste management requirements, availability of new technology and more environmentally friendly materials becoming more accessible.

This action plan is available to all staff and has been drawn to their attention and forms a part of new staff induction.
